November?

Could somebody tell please tell me what happened to 2007?  I will admit, it hasn't been one of my happiest years.....but golly gee, there's only 8 weeks left to it?  Actually.....I'm looking forward to 2008.  I like even-numbered years.  Have no idea why.  Just do.  So I have a feeling 2008 is going to be a very special year in some way.

I guess that old saying is very true....time flies when you're having fun.  And I've been having a lot of fun this past month.  First the visit to Paris, then my company from Boston, then my trip out to Atsena Otie and this past week we've had Brian and Veronique here visiting with us for three nights.

Brie started the week by going to the groomer on Monday.  That poor pup had way too much fur so the groomer suggested a "lamb" cut and this is what she looked like when we took her home Monday afternoon........

Is she cute or what?  Brie turned 7 months old last week and she sure has fit right into our family.

I happened to bake a pumpkin pie while Brian and Veronique were here and found out she has never ever tasted pumpkin pie.  They don't have it in France.  So here she is.......having her first bite of genuine American pumpkin pie.........

And the verdict?  She loved it!

Some of you might know my son has been commuting for over two years from Tampa to Newark to work.  Needless to say, it's a lot!  Flying back and forth every week.  Well.....I was delighted to find out last week he's now gotten a position at the Tampa Airport and Mom is beyond thrilled!  He has a nice townhouse in Tarpon Springs and it's only a 2 hour drive from there up here to the island.  So we'll be seeing a lot more of him.  We had a great visit with both him and Veronique this week and if he manages to get Thursdays off, we'll see them both here to have Thanksgiving dinner with us.  And yes.....Mom will be baking another pumpkin pie.

So this is what I've been up to this past week and once again, I need to play catch-up and pop over to your blogs and see what you've been up to.  See you here next time.........

Great on your son and Brie is a doll-- so cute. I have felt the same thing about how fast this year has gone. I was so sure that 2007 would be a special year because it was a 7 which is my number. It wasn't a bad year really and it had some good things in it but it wasn't what I had expected. Maybe it's best to just be and not expect... although some believe positive expectations enhance what happens. Losing Holly was the kind of blow though that would turn any year into a sad one when it's such a beloved pet

Brie is so adorable - she would be spoiled rotten in my house with that cute face :)

Yum on pumpkin pie - although tonight at the cheesecake factory I had a taste of pumpkin cheesecake - divine!!

Oh, this year certainly has flown by. I also cannot believe we are into November already.

Brie is just such a little cutie!! I want to cuddle her.

Oh pumpkin pie!!! I have not had any in ages and it was my ultimate favorite food for Thanksgiving (haven't celebrated Thanksgiving either in a long time).

Brie has grown! She is a beautiful girl! How fun to try pumpkin pie for the first time. I keep craving it because I see it on all the magazines this time of year.
