I'm off to a writers conference in south Florida.  I will also be doing some book signings there for my previously published books.

I hope you enjoyed my little video last Saturday of my fish pond.  You might recall I got a nice video camcorder for Christmas.  And I'm ashamed to say, I've used it maybe once.  Okay, twice.  Shame on me!  I just always seem to grab the camera for still photos instead of doing a video. 

However, I really need to learn more about the video camera and the only way to do that is to USE it.  Which I intend to do a lot more.  I hope to be pretty proficient with it before I leave for the south of France on Sept. 29, because I just know the scenery down there is going to be really worth filming on video, in addition to my still shots. 

So in order to get more practice, I plan to start using it more.  Like once a week and I'll put the video here on my blog.

Yes....I'm taking some time off.  I'm leaving today for book signings in the Sarasota area.  I'll be back on Sunday.  However, Holly has her chemo treatment in Gainesville on Monday.  So I'm giving myself one more day off from blogging. 

I have some subjects and topics jotted down in my notebook, so I'll see you next Tuesday when my daily blog will resume.

I've returned from my book signings and they were all quite successful.  So thank you to all our new readers and to the book shop owners for their kindness.  Our first stop was Circle Books in St. Armand's Circle, Sarasota.  As you can see by the flyer on their front door, despite my name on the book cover (Bill and I write under the pen name of our last names, Bonner DuLong) they misspelled my last name.......ah, but a rose by any other name.......  And as you can see, we were in pretty good company there, as Carl Hiaasen was signing on Sunday.  (Hmm, strange they didn't misspell his name) 

And it seems even their window display once again had my name incorrectly.

The above photo is another independent in downtown Sarasota where we signed.  While I do enjoy browsing through a Barnes & Noble, there's something about the coziness and ambiance of a small independent book store. And this one was complete with it's own bookshop kittie....Byron is 10 years old and has a real penchant for books.....

We signed at another great, small, independent in Venice.  I didn't get photos there but that shop had two kitties that resided there.  So in addition to meeting some great people and having enjoyable conversations, I was also entertained with a few really cute felines. 

So now the business of books is put aside for awhile and I have to concentrate on the holidays.  Lots to do and limited time.  I hope your week has gone well and I'll be popping by your blogs to visit.  See you tomorrow.........

Yes....it's that time of year when us authors must take advantage of the wonderful gifts that autographed books make.  So I'm off to the Sarasota area to trip entice shoppers at various book stores down there of this well-known information.  It makes for long days of standing, smiling, chatting, but it's usually worth it.
