All Work . . . .
AND NO PLAY . . . is not fun. So I've "played" all week and had a good time doing so. My son, Veronique and my four grandchildren came to spend a few days here on the island.

Since I didn't have our rental home booked for guests, they stayed there and it gave them plenty of room and comfort.
We celebrated two birthdays while they were here....Veronique had one on June 28 and Sebastian turns 6 years old on Friday. So we had cake and gifts for them.

Nana pre-ordered the final Harry Potter book for 12 year old Forrest months ago. He received it in the mail on Saturday and finished it off here Monday night. Needless to say, he loved it. And now....Nana knows the ending of the 7 book series. Nah, I'm not a spoiler. I won't tell you here, but I will say it sounds like JK Rowlings tied it all up perfectly.

And no visit to Nana's house is complete without fun in the hot tub in the evening.......

So we had a great visit and a good time and I really needed those few days to chill out a bit.
The rental house isn't staying empty for long though.......I had it rented for 3 days last week to a very nice family from Tampa. And this afternoon I have a family from Orlando coming in for 3 days. So two bookings in two weeks is pretty good and I'm happy.
And what else is keeping me busy? Well......I did up my packages to pitch some publishers and those are in the mail. I'm giving serious consideration to working on the paranormal novel that's been sitting in my computer for a few years begging to be tended to. So I think that will be my next project.
And on Saturday, the Eagles is having a Luau.....I've been asked to bake a dessert for it and Ray and I will go over in the afternoon for a few drinks and to partake of the Luau.
Of course, I'm still reading and have finished "Sugar Daddy" by Lisa Kleypas. It was very good and I highly recommend it. Now I get to browse all those books from the RWA conference again and see what to choose next. The only problem is.....so many books and not enough time. But I think you've gathered, somehow I do manage to squeeze in my valuable reading time.
I have a cute doggie video for you tomorrow that's bound to make you smile, so join me then.
See you next time......

So what is the dessert you are making? I remember my mom use to make the best pineapple upsidedown cake in a frying pan! It was baked in the oven though, but I don't remember why she used this old frying pan she had. I'll have to ask her if she still has the recipe and the frying pan!
Great about the rental also. Did you leave one of those blank books there that people can write comments/thoughts about their stay? I always liked doing that and reading other entries at The Faraway.
Sorry I haven't been by....Had a LOVELY Visit with a wonderful blogger buddy..Jamie Dawn and her brother....It was really a great treat for me.
It sounds like you have had some "treats", too...! I'm very happy for you my dear...Your family looks adorable.
