Lunch, Sweet Marley's & More . . .
After the chocolate factory tour Bill, Joyce and I had a nice lunch at Ivy Lane Bistro just down the street .....Joyce and I had the quiche and fruit. Since Joyce is leaving for a trip to China later this month, I brought her a Bon Voyage present.......every traveler MUST have a travel journal (says the author) and some nice travel shower gels..............

And then it was on to Joyce's childhood home, where her parents still reside, RIGHT on Daytona Beach. Imagine waking up to this view every morning? I don't think I'd ever tire of it, but I was surprised to see cars on the beach there! But Joyce told me they've been doing this for years.....................

And then................it was time for Terri's afternoon coffee. NO matter where I am........I have to search out a coffee shop to give me that afternoon boost. So we were off to Sweet Marley's and what a nice place it was. Tammy, the owner, was very friendly and the place had such a nice "feel" to it. When I spied some knitting on one of the tables............I knew I was in my element!

I assumed it was a project that Tammy was working on but to my surprise, I found out that it's a "community" knitting project. As you'll see from the notebook, Tammy encourages her customers/visitors to sit a while, knit and then enter their name and where they're from in the notebook. I was told you can do whatever type of stitches you'd like, as much or as little. What a cool idea! She had entries in the notebook from Germany, England and everywhere in between. So I passed this info on to Edie, owner of Kona Joe's here on Cedar Key, and I'm hoping that we'll begin this same type of project. at our local coffee shop. So here I am contributing my few rows and then Joyce did the same...............

And no.........my day wasn't over yet! Because at 5:00 I was doing a speaking engagement and book signing at She Sells Yarns. So join me here tomorrow and I'll share all of that with you, in addition to a couple that showed up and really surprised me! See you then.....................
