Up, Up and Away!

Well, by Wednesday during my book tour, I have to say I really WAS flying high!  I was overwhelmed and beyond grateful for all that had been done in my benefit by SO many people!  I watched Oprah's final show last week and I KNOW the feeling she felt.............because I also felt the love at each and every place that I went in the Quincy area.  So while I was definitely "on" an emotional high..........Wednesday, I was literally on a high, as you'll see below.

But first I spoke to Prof. Matt Sullivan's Creative Writing Class and what a joy that was!  It brought back warm memories of the Creative Writing Class that I took many years ago at North Shore Community College.

Here's Matt, in the center, with some of his students...............

And here's some more taken in the class...............

I very much enjoyed speaking to this group, so another huge thank you goes out to Prof. Matt Sullivan and all of the students.  Again, I was impressed with the interest they showed and the appropriate questions asked.  When I finished, two students in particular approached me........it was quite obvious to me that they displayed a natural passion for writing and will probably go far with their career.  And so.........yes, I'm extremely busy, but I'm also a firm believer in "giving back" especially when it comes to writing or education...........therefore, I offered to read a couple of chapters of their work in progress and offer my opinions/suggestions.  So Alyssa and Nikki.....if you're reading this, I have not forgotten you.  Your work was shipped from Quincy last week in the box I sent home and should arrive tomorrow, so you'll be hearing from me soon.

I had a little break and then I spoke at the college in an Open Forum, which I also enjoyed.  I met some great teachers and students, so thank you for coming.  One fellow approached me following my event.........Jon Bennett.  He had some questions for me and we clicked.  At age twenty-three, Jon is the same age as my oldest grandchild, Chas, so I think the connection was obvious.  He asked if he could "friend" me on Facebook, because he runs a writing group on there and of course...........I said "yes."  So here's my new friend, Jon............

And then..........it was time to head to Bob and Liz Mohrbacher's home for a delightful lunch.  Thank you so much to the two of you for your wonderful hospitality!

And above.....left to right.....Liz, Mary, Candace, and Pat is to my right.

Almost everywhere I went, there were doggies or cats.  Needless to say, with missing my own pets, I really enjoyed this.  So here's Bob and Liz's two cuties..................

I guess I got got carried away taking photos on my flight.........so I'm just going to post a few here and the rest of them I'll put into a slideshow for you above. I wanted to explain the music (So have your speakers turned on)  that I purposely chose for my slideshow, Edith Piaf's "Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien" (No, I Regret Nothing) This phrase and her song has always touched my soul, because I truly have no regrets.  My journey has been pretty phenomenal.....both the ups and the downs, the joys and the sorrows, but mostly each and every person that has crossed my path has made an impact on me, in one way or another.  So, regrets?  None at all.....and while I was in that aircraft flying high, believe me, I was saying silent "thank yous" for all that I've been given, because I feel mighty blessed.  So I hope you'll also enjoy the incredible scenery from the Beechcraft.....what a treasured memory this will always be for me!  So again, thank you to all of you that made this happen, including Mike Blakeley, and our pilot and co-pilot, John and Zack.

And no, my day still wasn't over yet!  That evening we had been invited to Pat and Ed's home for a BBQ.  So join me here next time and I'll share that with you..............
