A Knitting Class

Last Saturday I went to Yarn Works in Gainesville to take a class on making a fishnet lacy scarf.  It's always great dropping by my very favorite yarn shop in the area.

Left to right:  Marsha (shop assistant to owner, Barbara) Al and Linda, who taught the class and is wearing the scarf she taught us to make.

Here's the luscious yarn I chose to make mine........it's called Araucania and comes from Chile.  And it's ever so soft!  Unfortunately, the lighting wasn't quite right when I snapped the photo, because it's really a beige or champagne color.

And look at these adorable needles I got.......they have a cute pearl and decoration on the end and say, I love knitting, with a kitty.  They're also very nice to work with!

And here's my work in progress.................

I'm making it as a shawl.  By casting on 43 stitches, rather than 23, it becomes wide enough to wear as a shawl.  I'll keep you posted on the progress.

If you're a knitter, leave a comment and tell us what you're working on at the moment.  And if you've discovered any different or new yarns............do share with us!

See you here next time................

Terri, your scarf looks great! Have you tried the lifeline idea? I'm using it and find it is very good insurance, in case you make a mistake and have to rip out, heaven forbid! :-0

MARSHA: Not using a lifeline YET......lol

LINDA: Nah, I gave up on trying to meet the deadline for next week...lol Had to take it apart and begin over and I'm super busy right now. So guess it's better to go at my own pace and I'll wear it eventually!
