Thank you, Fairhope!

On Friday I was at The Yarn Cottage in Fairhope, Alabama for another book signing. What a delightful little town this was. Very artsy with lots of shops and located just across Mobile Bay.
I was greeted by Rhonda, the owner of the shop, and her personable daughter, Leah. Some of the ladies had already arrived for my signing and what IS it about women that knit? Almost immediately I feel like I've known these women forever! This has happened at every yarn shop I've signed at. We just start gabbing and they're no longer strangers. They're so friendly and supportive of my writing and yes, it still amazes me and in many cases, it humbles me. The lovely, Joan, brought out this emotion at this particular signing......her husband was away on business, she had to pick him up at the airport but told him he'd have to take a later flight, because she just couldn't miss coming to meet me and get a copy of SPINNING FORWARD personally autographed! So the poor man flew in to Biloxi at 9:00 that night and she had to drive 90 minutes to pick him up. There's NO doubt I have an exceptional group of fans!
And here's some of them that came by...................

I'm embarrassed and feel terrible for not remembering all of the names (but believe me, I will never forget YOU!) So I'll do the best I can here and if any of you read this blog, PLEASE leave a comment, telling me where you are in the photo, along with your name. Seated in the center is Rhonda Jones, owner of The Yarn Cottage. Standing almost behind her (in the bright pink sleeveless top) is her daughter, Leah, and to Leah's left, is Joan.
And here I am sitting with Rhonda and some of the women behind us.

By the time we got the cameras out a lot of the ladies had already left, but it was quite a crowd that had showed up. We talked, we laughed, we got to know each other. Many had questions about my characters, the plot, my future work, etc. so it was an extremely fun time.
A little FYI......by Saturday afternoon, after SO much talking, my voice started to give out on me. But it was certainly worth it to get to meet so many wonderful, talented and extremely friendly women. A huge thank you to Rhonda for hosting this signing and to all of you that came by to meet me and purchase my book!
I even managed to have a bit of down time and visited the beautiful Fairhope Pier.

Join me here next time when I'll share my signing at the yarn shop in Mobile.
See you then............................

MARGE: I think you'd LOVE knitting! Really! What you need to do is find a yarn shop in your area.....they all offer beginner classes now and trust me, it's NOT that difficult to learn and it gives SO much pleasure!
