Thank you, Tuscaloosa!

I just returned last evening from a very successful book tour in Alabama.  My first stop was Serendipity Needleworks in Tuscaloosa, which is owned by Ellen.  So a huge thank you, Ellen, for hosting my signing and giving me the opportunity to meet some wonderful women.

As you can see above, I even have a doggie fan.  Yes, I do!  This is Charlene, mom to Christian, a very sweet little Yorkie.  She brought Christian to the signing to also meet me and I was instructed to sign my book to both of them.  Huge dog lover that I am, I considered that an honor!

Here I am with some of the women that dropped by to get their signed copy of SPINNING FORWARD.

And here's Ellen (on the right) owner of the yarn shop, with Annette.  The gorgeous sweater they're holding up is one knitted by Annette and won First Prize in a knitting contest.  Look at the detail on those cats!  Needless to say, Annette is a very accomplished expert knitter.

And here I am with another fan that came by, Marilyn.

I thoroughly enjoyed meeting and talking with each and every one of you!  One fan in particular really touched my heart though.....Monica.  Monica works an hour south of Tuscaloosa and normally stays in that town during the week at her parents home rather than make the commute back and forth.  However, she was very excited about meeting me and getting my book so she made the effort to do the drive north to Tuscaloosa after work.  She arrived toward the end of the signing and had been concerned she might miss me.  Now THAT is a loyal and supportive fan!

And believe me, for each and every woman that took the time to come and meet me, I am deeply grateful.  It's the fans that keep authors writing when the going gets tough.  And this author just cannot thank all of you enough for your support.

Here's a shot of Mobile Bay...........On Friday I headed to Fairhope which was across the Bay.   So join me here next time and I'll share that yarn shop and signing with you.

Till then............keep those needles clicking in-between turning those pages.

I wish I had known you were going to be in Tuscaloosa. My daughter goes to the Univ of Alabama and is there for the summer. she would have stopped by. You've inspired me Terri - I am visualizing knitting lessons in my future once we move to Huntsville. We're trying to plan a trip to CK soon, I'll let you know. Good luck with the rest of your tour.

CANDY: Aww, what a shame you didn't know about me being in Tuscaloosa. I would have loved meeting your daughter! SEE, you'll just have to go to Facebook and join my fan page there.......then, you'll be kept abreast of where I'll be and when. By all means, start knitting! And let me know when you'll be in Cedar Key. Would love to meet you!
