Blooming Away ~

Remember my Bella Lugosi Day Lilies?  Here they are blooming away.  Aren't they gorgeous?  But that's not the only thing blooming.  My knitting is blooming as well..............

Here's the lace scarf I finished this past weekend.  I had bought the yarn, Borocco Seduce, in Gainesville and was attempting to do that short row stitch.  But I kept doing something wrong and it didn't look right.  So I found a Chevron lace pattern and here's my finished project..........

It's very light weight and perfect for wearing during the summer as an accessory.  I enjoyed the pattern so much (pretty easy and doesn't require a lot of concentration if you have one eye on TV like I usually do) that I decided to use the same pattern with a different yarn.

This is my current project............I used my favorite Bonsai yarn.  That's what I love about knitting.  Use a different yarn, different needles and you get a totally different look.

I think the lace pattern is much more distinctive with this yarn.  But shhhh!  Don't tell anybody, but I goofed when I purchased it.  Thought I had the exact same hanks but one of them was a bit different shade of green.

I like the subtle shading it's producing and that's another thing I like about knitting........being as creative as you want to be.

What's with this crazy weather?  Heard they had SNOW in Reno, Nevada today!  And here.....north central Florida is on heat alert.  It's high 90's (way too high, even for Florida!) with a heat index of 105!  Local forecasts are warning people to stay inside and drink plenty of water.....which is exactly what I'm doing.

I've been working on book #3 and I'm pleased with the progess.  I have over 16,000 words and my characters and plot are moving along nicely.

I'll be in Alabama next month doing book signings (and yes, I plan to wear my new scarves) so hop on over to my fan page on Facebook at Terri DuLong - Cedar Key Series and check out my schedule.  It's also listed on my Appearances page on my website.  If you're in the area where I'll be, do drop by and say hello.  I love meeting my readers in person!

So far Cedar Key has been spared the horrific oil but my heart certainly goes out to all the fishermen along the Gulf that's been affected by this catastrophe to our environment.

I hope all is well with you and I'll see you here next time................

Beautiful scarves, very delicate. I like the shading in the one and the looseness of the other. Oh my I'll have to try to knit one of these days, especially if you say there is one method that doesn't require a lot of concentration!
I love the color of the lily, looks like it belongs in a gardening magazine!
HOT here on the East Coast also.
Hope the oil stays away from CK and also doesn't get caught in the Gulf Stream and come up the East Coast.

Love looking at your knitting projects - you say the loose, lacy look is easy. Yeah, right.
