One Way Street & Assorted Things ~

Yes......Dock Street is now a one way street and may only be entered from the bridge side.  Those of you that have visited here recall how tight (that's putting it mildly) it could be inching your way along Dock Street in an automobile.  Golf carts.....never a problem.  But there's been many a tight squeeze with cars, so the street recently has been changed to a one-way, as shown in my photo above.

Well, I've recovered from Washington and the RWA conference.  It took awhile playing catch-up with emails and various other things but I caught up so well that this past week I was able to begin working on my Christmas novella.

I now have 5000 words finished and I'm very pleased.  I love my characters and I think readers will enjoy the Christmasy plot that I've come up with.  Just in case you didn't know, my novella will be in an anthology with three other authors, one of which is NY Times best selling author, Fern Michaels, who will be headlining the anthology and it will be released November 2010.  So I'm pretty excited about that.

Current news on the book front........Kensington has now sent ARC's (advanced reading copies) to my publicist who, in conjunction with Kensington, will be sending those out for reviews.  Taking deep breaths here.   Of course, I'm hoping all of the reviewers will love SPINNING FORWARD.  So time will tell.

I now have my printed invitations for my book launch in November and those will be going into the mail in a couple of weeks.

After all of the hustle and bustle getting ready for RWA and that VIP dinner, it's nice that I have a bit of a lull at the moment.  Besides working on my manuscript, I've been getting lots of reading done and also lots of knitting.  I'm working on a very pretty scarf for myself, done with Bonsai Bamboo yarn and I'll have to get a photo of it to share here with you.

But join me here next time and I'll tell you about  a very good novel I just finished.  So see you then................

Oh my gosh, they finally did it! The one way, how is that going? I knew once they increased the sidewalk width it was only a matter of time, but even though everyone seemed neighborly when I was there, in letting each other pass when it was 2-way when the cars were tight. Yes I bet you are enjoying your 'downtime', but I'm sure that will be short lived. Oh Bonsai Bamboo, that sounds interesting, I still have yet to master the simple yarn technique, maybe I'll try, soon. Very exciting about all the book news!

I cannot believe they made Dock Street one! They talked about that the entire time we lived there but never did it.
Loved all the bits & pieces about your DC trip - I was green with envy about you meeting some of my favorite authors.
What the heck is Bonsia bamboo yarn?
