Wishbones

When I recently went to Moneroeville, you might recall that I mentioned meeting the author, Carolyn Haines and that I purchased her latest novel, Wishbones.

Well, in-between reading Duma Key, I've now finished this novel.

It's a Sarah Booth Delaney mystery and I believe it's number eight in her series.  However, I haven't read any of the others yet, but I plan to.

Sarah Booth is a PI from Mississippi.  She has a delightful hound dog, Sweetie Pie, some great girlfriends and in this book she gets involved with a past lover, Graf Milieu.

I believe the previous books all took place in the south, but this one has Hollywood and Costa Rica for the settings.  Sarah packs up her hound dog and her PI business and takes off for Hollywood for a chance on stardom.

The chemistry between Sarah and Graf builds, as mysterious accidents and a murder occurs.  Although Sarah put her PI business on hold, she finds herself getting deeply involved in solving the case, along with the help of her friend and partner, Tinkie, who flew in from Mississippi.  And also on hand for the mayhem is Jitty (loved this character!) the ghost that inhabits Sarah's ancestral home in Mississippi.

All of it makes for a romping and entertaining good time.  Wishbones was a fun and delightful read and I plan to look for the previous books in the series.  You can visit Carolyn's website at the link I'm giving you here.

Everybody take care and I'll you see you at Island Writer next time.............
