Readers Digest ~

Yes.....I received some very good news on Friday from my editor at Kensington.  I'm calling it an early Christmas present.

I was notified that she was closing out the week with "some absolutely fantastic news!"  The sale of SPINNING FORWARD to Readers Digest!  I had no idea this was in the works, so what a terrific surprise that was!

SPINNING FORWARD will be published in Readers Digest Select Edition condensed book volume on December 10, 2010.  Territory is North America and the format is Hardcover.

It's been non-stop excitement since the release of my novel October 27 and I couldn't be more excited or pleased with how well it's doing.  A huge portion of that is due to you, my readers, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I keep remembering back to the 50's and 60's when my mom used to receive the Readers Digest condensed books in the mail.  And all I can say is, WOW!  Because now my debut novel is also going to appear in there.

24 novels are chosen each year and I'm going to be in mighty good company..........previous authors in the Select Edition were Ken Follett, Nora Roberts, Nicholas Sparks, Sue Grafton, James Patterson and so many others.  I sure do feel extremely grateful and honored that my novel will also be included.

So there's been lots of excitement around here this weekend.  My publicist asked if the champagne corks were popping, but no, they weren't.  I've spent pretty much the entire weekend working on my revisions for book #2.  I'm now on page 110 and very pleased.  So in addition to the great news, there was still work to be done.  My deadline for the novel is Feb. 1.  And I always like to have my deadlines finished way ahead of time........because you just never know what's around the next corner that could interfere.  Life has a way of doing that to us.

So although no champagne corks were popping around here, I'm still walking on air and celebrating.  By the way.......those champagne corks will pop after March 1.  That's my deadline for my Christmas novella, so when both projects have been completed and sent off..........THAT is when I'll be sipping the bubbly!

See you here next time...................

Terri, Super news. Congrats to you! I remember the RD books also. My mom was always excited to get them, still has some old one but with her failing eyesight it is not easy for her to read. Do you think your book will be released in a "large print" edition?

Terry:
This is just GREAT news! I'd like to ask you who worked on this, because it sounds like something an agent would do. But unless you got an agent after your book sold, I'd understood you didn't have an agent. So I would guess it had to be your publisher who approached R.D. Or maybe the other way around.
Anyway, I'm just making assumptions here rather than asking you questions, because I know you're busy, and I don't want you to feel you have to get back to me.
So: what a good publisher you have - to be so proactive.
What I like to think of is that you've done all this without an agent! You should be so very proud, Terri.
Also, I love all the attention the book's getting, like the Dallas count.
I'm just catching up with your news, here. Your newsletter reminded me that it's been too long since I've stopped by.
And I'm so sorry about your Shawn. I hope that you'll hear soon, and that all will be well.
I know you'll have very meaningful holidays. This is such a special year for you!
