Memories . . .

In addition to the wonderful gifts of family and friendship, the very memorable gift of all the people who attended my book launch, the gorgeous flowers from Ray, Bill and my publicity agency.....I also received some other mementoes to mark the launch of Spinning Forward.

The first gift arrived a few weeks before the launch and I'm ashamed to say......not only didn't I get a photo of it, I'm afraid they've all been consumed.  A large box of chocolates from Sees Candy from my very dear and close friend, Naomi, in the hills of Hollywood who blogs at Sitting in the Hills.  The candy may be gone, but trust me, the warm and loving memories will always linger.

From my friend, Alice, a silver bracelet that's appropriately inscribed, "Cast On Your Dream."  With a reference to both knitting and me casting on my dream of being a published author, I'm getting a lot of compliments on my bracelet.

And from my friend Val..........a beautiful mobile that she purchased in Anchorage, Alaska but the driftwood came from Barrow, Alaska.  A mermaid floats in the air with the words "Seaside Serenity" written on it.  A perfect item to soothe me and stir my inspiration.

Unfortunately, my daughter Susan couldn't be here for the launch celebration.....she's very busy taking two more courses toward her Registered Nurse degree (which she'll receive in one year) in addition to working full-time in the ER.  Also.....she has already volunteered to come down here when Shawn has his lung surgery to help me and assist in his care and recovery.  But she remembered Mom with this lovely engraved keepsake paperweight.

And from my friend, Joyce....a wonderful tote bag that she had monogrammed at the top (that I'm using to carry my bookmarks, etc. for my book events) a really cute tee-shirt with a saying that's oh-so-true, some relaxing music that every author needs and a great book of words.

I love the saying....something about "Today's pleasures are tomorrow's memories."  It's been an incredible few weeks for me, with so many memories that I'll always hold close......thanks to the wonderful love and support from family and friends.

Join me here tomorrow when I share with you some of the visiting time I got to enjoy during the week of my book launch.  See you then..............
