Moving Along ~

The moving along that I'm referring to in my entry title is my moving along in the process of my book #2 manuscript.  More details will be given in my February Newsletter (and if you haven't signed up yet, you can do so by clicking the icon to the right on the sidebar) However, I finished my revisions and editing earlier this week, but no, I'm not quite finished in the process yet.

I then sent off the manuscript to be read by my two invaluable "readers".......my writing partner, Bill, and my best friend from high school, Alice.  As a writer, Bill reads the manuscript one way focusing on grammar, punctuation, etc.  As an avid female reader, Alice reads it another way, pointing out different things to me.  And both of them.......they're priceless!  So thank you, thank you to both of you.  Once I get their feedback, then I will proceed to do another final edit and then......my second "baby" will be on its way to New York.

Since I have a lull at the moment with my writing, on Wednesday I attended the January meeting of the Garden Club here on Cedar Key.  We had a guest speaker who talked about butterflies.  One of my very favorite things.  It was quite informative and explained the particular flowers and plants we want to have in our garden to attract them.  I also found the brochure above very helpful.  One side explains all the various types of butterflies and the other shows the various plants and flowers.

Some things coming up for me this month and next:

  • Those of us that were on Obama's election campaign will be attending his Inaugural Ball.  Well, no, not in Washington.........but right here on Cedar Key!  Yup!  We've hired the Island Room and on January 20 at least sixty of us will be gathering for our own Inaugural Ball.  A band has been hired, a buffet will be served and I think it will be quite the gala evening.  And of course, I'll share it here with you.
  • I'll be heading to the east coast later this month for a writers conference over there.
  • It looks like my daughter, granddaughter, grandson and his friend will be coming to visit February 14 for a week.  So I'm looking forward to that.
  • By the first week in February I hope to be ready to begin writing book #3
  • And on February 4, Sir Duncan will be turning 3 years old

I'm still doing lots of reading and a fair amount of knitting.  My scarf is working up very nicely and I'll have to get a photo of it.

I've now finished the 562 pages of The Story of Edgar Sawtelle.  So join me here next time and I'll give you my review of it.

See you then....................

I was planning on down loading that to my Kindle, so I'm interested to hear your take on it.

Interesting, and great, that you have "readers" than scan your manuscript from two different angles. And starting #3? And I am just waiting to read #1... Mind boggling. (is that a word??)

You truly do have a LOT on your plate Terri...And I think that is WONDERFUL!
What a GREAT thing to do for The Inaugration! BRILLIANT Idea....!
I just got my "invitation" in the mail two days ago.....It sure is pretty....But of course mostly there was a small brochure included with lots of Inaugural Commemorative things you can buy....I'm thinking about some of them...! This is such a Historic Inauguration I think it would be FABULOUS to own something commemoratingit, don't you?

It tires me out just reading your itinerary here. I'll bet it's going to be a lot warmer at your inaugural party than the ones in DC.

It's ten degrees here in Michigan right now. With the wind chill, it's zero. And it's supposed to get colder!
