Palin Concern

YES..........I'm VERY concerned and you should be too.  The more I hear and read about Sarah Palin, the more concerned I become.  For the people of this country, for the future of our country.   I'm so concerned that I felt compelled to do another blog entry about my feelings.

Since McCain's announcement on Friday, I find myself putting aside the issues for a moment.  All the issues that I know will be taken care of with Obama as President.......the war in Iraq, healthcare, education, the elderly, restoration of the world's view of America.  Because I find myself thinking of four years with McCain as President and Palin as Vice President.........and although I'm not a fearful person, nor do I allow fear to rule my life, I am getting increasingly concerned.

I'm now viewing this upcoming election from a global standpoint.  The world is in a very unstable situation.  We have a war raging in Iraq and problems with Russia.  We are not on good terms with Europe, thanks to the Bush Administration.  What if more international troubles occur?  What if we get indications of another terrorist attack?  Do you feel comfortable with McCain and Palin as our leaders?  Or worse..........with Palin as our President, should something happen to McCain?  I sure as heck DON'T!

Her credibility is zilch!  While I'm certainly not putting down a degree in Journalism...........excuse me, but I'd much rather have a VP with experience in foreign policy during these very uncertain times.

Bush did the same thing...........he surrounded himself with cronies of like-minded people.  People that were Pro-Life, conservative, Evangelical, NRA members.  Sorry, folks................but as the war in Iraq, Katrina and a multitude of other problems proved, these are not the kind of people that can safely and intelligently take us through the next four years.

Say what you will about Europe.........but our relations with Europe are of the utmost importance in this global economy and global situation.  Europe watches America very closely.  They know.  They know what the Bush Administration has done to sever ties and create the chaos in our country.  Do you really think McCain and Palin can pave the way to restore the good will our country so richly deserves?  I think not!  Do you really think McCain and Palin have the diplomacy to sit down and discuss world events?  Why should they?  They're twins of Bush and his cronies.  That same Administration that was labeled as BULLIES.  Why should Europe think McCain and Palin would be any different.  They know better.  They're not any different.

Oh and by the way.....for Palin to even utter Hillary Clinton's name is blasphemy, in my opinion.  How dare she even hint they might be similar.  They may both be females but THAT is where any similarity ends!  We all know what an intelligent, accomplished and caring politician Hillary has proven herself to be.  A FAR cry from Sarah!  So I was angry and insulted when I heard her say Hillary's name and try to jump on her coat tails.

So if any of you readers are undecided or being swayed by the possibility of having a female VP (despite the fact she lacks credentials) think about the outcome of this election from a global viewpoint.  Think about how safe you would feel possibly being led by a person that has no more experience than being mayor of a small town or Governor for less than two years.  Think about the people surrounding that possible Administration.  Not the best and brightest and most experienced and intelligent like we had in the Clinton years.  NO..........the ones who had favors owed to them, the ones who campaigned, the ones like Karl Rove who spinned the untruths and hypocrisy.

And this is why I'm SO concerned!  This is why I felt compelled to voice these concerns.  This is why I hope that America will stand up and do the right thing on November 4!  Because, literally................ALL of our lives depend on it.

See you here next time.............

I thought I added a comment yesterday, but cannot find it tomight, so I will write again.
I am concerned because for one...the two McCain and Palin, will be deciding our new Supreme Court Justices. Women rights could be lost if they are elected.
I am also concerned for her children, how can she raise her children and be vice-pres.???I must be clear, I do believe a woman can have a family and career, but Vice- Pres???? or President???

After 'born again' George you could now have 'creationism' Sarah one heartbeat away from the Presidency; so good luck Mr. Obama from your friends across 'the pond'.

You said it well and I am concerned also. I wonder who we are as a people that this pair could get so close to being in the White House. It's not just about them, but also about those who support them. They are a very scary group. Put together rigid religiosity and misplaced use of patriotism and you have fascism. What gets me is how many of their followers fall in lockstep without seeming to think. It has been growing stronger and stronger that the right wing doesn't think. They follow and no matter what their party does, whether it goes against all the values they claimed to believe, still they follow. I wonder how many there really are. That's the frightening part.

Bless you Beverly for mentioning that very crucial point. It's one that concerns me the most. What's really clear to me is that McCain needs the fundamentalist religious vote to win and Palin is clearly the link to those extremists. Everybody even thinking of voting for them, please do your homework and read, read, read, blogs, newspapers, and don't vote blindly on gender and feistiness and looks like too many men tend to do.

I LOVE HOW THE REPUBLICANS ARE PAINTING PALIN AS A HOCKEY MOM, LOL.

IS SHE LIKE THE REST OF US?

DOES SHE MAKE DINNER EVERY NIGHT? TUCK HER KIDS INTO BED EVERY NIGHT? FOOD SHOP? LIVE PAYCHECK TO PAYCHECK? WORRY ABOUT HEALTH INSURANCE FOR HER FAMILY?

DOES SHE RUSH AROUND EVERY DAY, CARTING HER 5 KIDS TO SPORTS, DOCTORS, IS SHE WORRIED ABOUT HEATING HER HOME THIS WINTER AND KEEPING HER KIDS WARM?

WHY HASN'T SHE GIVEN AN INTERVIEW LIVE?? MOST PEOPLE SAY HER SPEECH WAS GREAT, BUT DO YOU HONESTLY THINK SHE WROTE THAT SPEECH? ANY ONE OF US COULD HAVE READ A SPEECH LIKE THAT AND PUT DRAMA INTO IT!

YA, SHE'S JUST LIKE ALL OF US MOM'S LMAO!!
