Life Goes On

While I've been buried in my writers studio dealing with all the contest entries for the Royal Palm Awards, life was still going along............right outside my window.

My day lilies bloomed and I was happy to discover them one morning when I wandered outside to the garden and fishpond area.

I've also been very fortunate that during six days of the time I was buried inside, we got heavy rain every single day.  So this certainly helped by not requiring ME to get out there and do my watering.  And look at my Hosta!  I'm so pleased with it, but I had no idea this plant gave forth flowers.  Anybody familiar with this?

And the other morning when I wandered outside, I noticed my Bella Lugosi Day Lily has a couple buds on it.  So I think this one is due to burst out very shortly and delight me even more.

So even though my life was consumed being chairperson of this writing contest for Florida Writers Association.....it's very nice to see that life and growth was taking place right outside my window.

See you here next time..............

Although I don't presently have a garden (I don't think a few containers on my tiny porch qualifies), yes, I am familiar with the fact that hostas do blossom. I haven't had any since my log cabin in Maine, but have always loved the various colorations in the leaves/plants. The blossoms are second-best in my eyes..

Nature is a wonder! So happy for you Terri, that all that growth and joy is growing right outside your door...! I know nothing about these plants ar all....And I had no idea there is a plant named after Bela Lugosi...! Is it that it blooms at night? (lol)

I thought of you when I was checking out the little Koi ponds at Biltmore. I wondered if you were still buried in entries!
