A Bit of This ~ A Bit of That

Well, there isn't anything earth shattering going on in my little corner of the world.  But here I am anyway........

As most of you know, I'm entered in the First Chapter Contest at Gather.com.  If you've gone to visit, read my chapter and voted for me.....thank you.  If you haven't and want to.....voting ends at midnight tonight.  All the details are a few entries back on my sidebar.

With voting ending tonight, I'm continuing to hold my own.  Doing okay.  The 25 semi-finalists will be announced on or before next Monday, September 24 and of course, I'll keep you posted.

I've been buried in my current manuscript for the past week.  I now have 150 pages finished and I'm very pleased with it.  So my muse has been in high gear.

Our mornings are finally beginning to get a bit cooler here and I've started to walk Duncan and Brie again.  For only 5 months old, Brie is a great little walker.  She trots right along and seems to really enjoy it.

I've also still been into reading.  A lot.  So in the near future, I'll have some book reviews to tell you about.

Ray and I will be leaving for Paris 2 weeks from next Monday.....I honestly do not know where the time has gone since I was there in March!  But before I know it, we'll be on our way, and I'm very much looking forward to returning to my beloved Paris.  Before long I'll be getting out the luggage, choosing which clothes to bring, making sure my European cell phone is charged, getting my laptop ready, etc. etc. etc.  And I see temps there are in the 60's and 70's.  Oh yeah.....I'm longing for that autumn air.....which we do not have in Florida!  It'll be great to wear my leather coat, pullover sweaters, etc.  I've had it with shorts and T-shirts.

And today happens to be my "baby's" 37th birthday.  I know he visits my blog now and again, so if you're reading.....a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you, Brian.  Talk about time passing.....it seems like yesterday, I held that 7 lb. 4 oz. baby.  It really is scary how the years just zoom on by!

Well, that's it for this time.  Hope all is well with all of you and I'll see you back here soon.......

Last week in France it was still shorts and T shirt weather as summer seems to have come late to northern Europe. We even dined with that old Italian guy, Al Fresco. :-)

Sunday was a summer day, but today is chilly... So you want to take light clothes and warm ones along. One never knows! I can't believe that it's only two weeks from now. I feel like you were here yesterday! ;)

Good luck in the contest.
