I've been doing lots of extra walking lately and last month I brought my camera along. Thought you might like to join me on my walk......

When I come out of my road.....which is a dead end and not paved.....this is where I am. As you can see, no traffic and nice and quiet.

And when I pass the cemetery, this is what I see. The salt marshes and bayou. This particular day, I was taking a walk downtown.

I don't have to walk very far before I see this scene on the Gulf of Mexico.

Or this one.......with Atsena Otie in the background.

For those of you that know the island, that's the Faraway Inn on the left.....a great place to stay and it's pet friendly. As you can see.....still hardly any traffic, except for a golf cart here and there. Which means I can really chill out as I walk and take in the sights, the sounds of the birds and resonate with nature.

And here we have Second Street.....our Main St. and downtown area. This is where the PO is, the banks (yeah, we actually have two on the island) some shops, the library, police station, Cook's Cafe (where I stopped for coffee outside) the book store, the Arts Center and a few galleries.

And I can never, ever, go for a walk without bumping into some people I know. (Part of the charm of the island and something I love) On that particular day, I met my friend Lucy (She lives in Montreal and stays at the Faraway Inn from Dec. till May) She passed me on the golf cart with her friend, Yves, and his huge Great Dane, Nike. They were nice enough to let me get a photo of them after we chatted for awhile.
This route I shared with you is just one of many that I take on the island. I'll have to remember to bring my camera along again for some different shots next time.
So thanks for joining me on my walk......and I'll see you tomorrow.

Apart from some of the vegetation your part of the world looks much like where I live on the north coast of Kent, but I guess where you live the weather is a bit warmer.
I can see that Cedar Key still hasn't lost it's charm. Had a good laugh over Alan's comment. ;)

Thank you. Love the angle of the sun.
(re: your comment on my blog about Florence, Italy. You say you will be near there this Fall and I envy you...I hope you make it to Florence and that you enjoy it as much as I did.)
