Knit One, Purl Two
Time for an update on my knitting projects. But where is the sock, you ask? Safely put aside for now. I admit not to failure, but to confusion. Without somebody right at my side coaching me on, I'm afraid I found knitting those socks way too tricky for me. Actually, it was more not understanding the instructions. I'm a "hands-on" learner and need to pay a visit to my friend, Denise, to get straightend out.
But all is not lost....I've managed to finish the handbag for my granddaughter, as you'll see above. I'm now working on the I-cord, which will be the strap. Then it all gets tossed into the washing machine in hot water to be felted.
And I also began working on a sweater for my youngest granddaughter. My friend, Alice, gave me the pattern and I'm enjoying it. It's pretty simple and seems to be working up fairly fast.
So did everyone watch the Super Bowl last night? Since it wasn't the Pats or the Bucs, I admit to not being very interested, but congrats to all you Steeler fans.
And this Friday we all get to partake of the agony and ecstasy with the Winter Olympics beginning. I love the ice skatting so will be tuning in for those segments. I'm always in awe of atheletes of this caliber. When I think of the concentration, determination and motivation of these people I can only imagine that agony of defeat. But we can't all win, so it'll be the best of the best.
Time to move on outta here. Those knitting needles are calling to me for later today. So I'll see you tomorrow.......
