Duncan on video

I just did this video of Duncan in the yard. He wasn't cooperating real well with the camera. Hmmm, maybe he's camera shy with videos? But it'll give you an idea how tiny he is. He sees the vet on Monday and I'm anxious to see what he weighs. Any guesses?I'll be back later today with a text blog.

Lucy....I'm smiling. I know...he doesn't "look" real, does he? He actually reminds me of Paddington Bear from England...same color and same shape to his face. Hmmm, maybe I got a teddy bear and not a Scottish Terrier?

Joyce....your guess of 8 pounds is duly recorded. The answer to be revealed after his vet visit on Monday.

You are such a Mommy! To get him to look up get a squeaky toy, preferably one that he is not too familiar with and hold it in your free hand and squeak it. You can always resort to the food trick that we used when showing dogs. Show the treat to him and then hold it between your teeth as you shoot his photo, (Dog bone treats work the best because you don't get the taste.) As I read this over, I am thinking to myself, "Oh my gawd, Terri is going to think you are the internet crazy." Maybe I am, but these tricks have worked for me.

So we now have 3, 8 and 10 pounds. Just bear in mind that full grown, Duncan will only be between 18 and 25 pounds.
I think I'm leaning toward around 3 pounds too....he sure is light as a feather. Details to follow on Tuesday after his vet visit.

Maria....thank you SO much for your tips and suggestions. I know professional pet photographers have all kinds of ways to get the animals to "pose" perfectly for photos.
I will definitely try your tips next time I have the camera in hand to snap Duncan.
