'Tis The Season

Yes....'tis the season for decorations and gift wrapping, eggnog and Christmas parties, magic and love in the air.

But it's also a time of year that many families will be separated because their loved one is in Iraq.  In a place they didn't ask to go, in a culture they don't understand....and maybe even involved in a war they don't agree with.  So as you celebrate all that you have, the freedom of this country and being able to enjoy the holidays, please consider visiting Lets Say Thanks.  You'll be able to send a card to somebody in the military.  It'll only take you a minute to do this and it's free.....but I have a feeling it'll make one of our troops feel good for much longer than a minute.

And lets not forget.....Christmas is really in the giving, not the receiving.  So make yourself feel good and go visit this link now.  May our troops have a safe holiday season and may their families know how much we appreciate them.   See you tomorrow.......

I will check out that link in a minute, Terri.

Re your comment: I am always for hire, it just takes plane fare...LOL. If I could, I'd clone myself and go all over decorating for everyone!

A colleague of my husband had a son who spent a year in Iraq in the army and returned recently. He went back to college. Although he did well at first, after a few months he just fell apart, totally unable to cope, depressed about what he had seen in Iraq. All the death. Apparently everyone in his troop who has returned is faring the same way -- unable to hold jobs, drinking, horribly depressed. I just have to ask myself, did it have to be this way? And there is no end in sight. How many more young people are going to face the same future?

Thanks for this reminder, Terry. I've sent several cards from their site and just sent another one tonight. It must be so hard on them and their families at this time of the year!
