Thursday 13 ~~~ #1

Beach_Thursday13_Banner.jpgAs you can see, I've added a new feature here at Island Writer.  I've joined the Thursday 13 group of bloggers.  For those of you not familiar with it....I'll explain.  Rather than my usual drivel brilliant words on Thursdays, I'll be regaling you with 13 things about me that you might not know, or I'll be giving you 13 random thoughts on my past week.  I'll also be visiting many of the other participants and hope you'll do the same.  My blog roll is at the bottom of my right sidebar, so pay some of them a visit when you can.  Without further ado.....here we go.

  1. Although I'm orginally from the Boston area, we moved outside of Cincinnati when I was 7 years old and I never lost my Boston accent.

  2. We returned to the Boston area when I was 13 years old.

  3. At age 40 I moved to Florida, which was almost twenty years ago....and I still haven't lost my Boston accent.

  4. I love water....the ocean, lakes, ponds.

  5. But I almost drowned in a lake at age 2.

  6. And due to a fear of water.....I've never learned to swim.

  7. I was born on St. Joseph's day and my Godmother got to choose my middle name.

  8. Josephine is what it is.

  9. I hated it growing up and would only put the "J" for anything requiring "middle name"

  10. As an adult, I feel it's not such a bad name, but I still refrain from using it.

  11. I'm an only child.....and always wanted siblings.

  12. But I have three children...a daughter and two sons.

  13. And I have 7 grandchildren.....5 grandsons and 2 granddaughters.

Well alright Josephine....

Blog Lesson #43:

Never put a name you don't like on a blog or some people will then begin to refer to by that name. Get my point Josephine. lol

Okay...I have got one of those unmentionable middle names also and you will never know it! :)

Yay, you're joining the TT! I agree, being an only child is awfully lonely!

I hated being an only child too, therefore I had three children. My middle name was very odd to me until I saw an actress with it, and then it wasn't so bad anymore (Rue).

So you have now joined the Thursday Thirteen...Congratulations, my dear Terri! I love reading people's TT's and especially when as in your case it is about a numner of things but there is a bit of a theme, (beside the fact that it is about you...Lol), too....The Boston Accent...Being An Only Child....And it is so interesting to me Terri that you love the water and live so close to the water...but don't swim...that is so sad that you almost drowned, my dear...and that effected the idea of swimming...Do you ever worry about being out on a boat and perhaps something happening....? Of course there are the life jackets...I don't mean to be morbid...Sorry my dear.

I like your middle name. Well I will enjoy your Thursday 13s! And I don't think you will ever lose that accent!

Oh, that explains it. I left Boston when I was 27 so I had longer to lose the accent and mostly did!
