The Road To Blogging
When I began my own blog last May, I had no idea where that road would take me. Looking back, it amazes me to see where it led. I've been all over the world. I've been entertained, informed, uplifted and humbled. I've met people that I wouldn't have otherwise met.
I've developed a very nice friendship with Minerva in London......a young woman who struggles each and every day with the exhilaration and fear of life and death. A cancer patient undergoing chemo and uncertain of her future, she writes openly and honestly about how this experience has turned her life upside down. She holds nothing back and pulls no punches and yes, sometimes it's disturbing to read her words because they're so heart wrenchingly honest. But Minerva is a fighter and as she said the other day on her blog, she's on a warpath to beat this thing called cancer. She inspires me, she makes me think but most of all, Minerva makes me very grateful for my healthy days.
I've met knitter, Kate Gilbert at Needles on Fire and not only have shared her info and expertise on knitting, I got to share in the birth of her first child, a beautiful daughter. By following her blog, I got to feel like she was my next door neighbor as I checked in frequently to see if she'd given birth yet. And was thrilled to read when her daughter arrived.
And Fran, over at Sacred Ordinary, always has spiritual and enlightening words to impart. And a very special thank you to Fran, because it was through her that I connected with Kat at The Artist Way.
Speaking of Kat at Kats Paws, all of her readers got to share the excitement of her engagement the other day. Kat inspires all of us by being our facilitator for The Artist Way but she also shares a part of her daily life....the ups, the downs and the inbetween. Visiting Kat is like sitting with a friend chatting over coffee.
What can I say about Ronni Bennett at Time Goes By? Ronni is a prolific writer whose mission is to tell us what its' really like to get older. The injustices, the prejudices, the humor, the sadness. Extremely knowledgeable on current issues involving the older segment of our society, Ronni is a mover and shaker. Is it any wonder that she has such a large following?
One of the magical things about blogging is that it's like an intricate piece of netting.....you go to visit one blog, they mention another blogger that sounds interesting and you find yourself weaving your way to new territory that only continues to grow.
That's how I recently found Lorianne at Hoarded Ordinaries. Lorianne is an English instructor at Keene State College and yup, I'm now hooked on reading her every day. She captures a piece of her small town with lush photos and follows it up with superb writing and commentary. And I look forward to getting to know her better.
Joe at Rome Daily Photo found my photo blog and paid me a visit. Well, of course, I had to reciprocate and get over to his spot. It's definitely worth stopping by. Vibrant photos of Rome that I don't think will disappoint you.
So as you can see, that road to blogging....it's led me to places and people that have only enhanced my own life. And to steal from Louie, "What A Wonderful World." See you tomorrow for the Artist Way............
